It is a pleasure to welcome Mavis McKenley '11, Vice President and Trust Officer at AMG National Trust Bank, and Doug Wilson '86, Executive Vice President of LifeNet Health, who have been elected to the Board of Trustees of Âé¶¹´«Ã½rtb. They both bring enthusiasm to serve, support of our mission, and a desire to continue to contribute to the work of the University. Read more . 

Âé¶¹´«Ã½rtb is a private, non-profit institution governed by a self-perpetuating Board of Trustees. Board members are elected on the basis of commitment to the programs and purposes of VWU. The Board establishes the broad guidelines of philosophy and institutional purpose and names the president to carry out their guidelines. The VWU Board has 31 elected members with the President of the University, Resident Bishop of the United Methodist Church, two District Superintendents of the UMC, and Alumni Council Chair serving ex-officio.

Dr. Scott D. Miller is president of Virginia
Wesleyan University. Respected as one of the most entrepreneurial higher education executives in America, he is in his 29th year as a university president. Dr. Miller has dedicated his career to the opportunities available through education. He especially values the small, classical, liberal arts college environment that offers students personalized pathways to life and career success. Previously, he was president of Bethany College (2007-2015), Wesley College (1997-2007), and Lincoln Memorial University (1991-1997). He was also Executive Vice President (1988-1991) and Vice President for Development (1984-1988) at Lincoln Memorial University and Director of College Relations and Alumni Affairs at Rio Grande College (now University) in Ohio.
